Opposites need each other.

The world is changing. The face its mirror.

In the portrait of this woman we find a contradiction:

On the right side of your face, the oversized, gaunt, almost bitter hand covers your eye. Whatever it is that jumps too loudly and massively into her senses - it seems too much.

On the other hand, the reaction to it: what happens makes sad, speechless and silent. The right half of the picture, seen separately, makes you feel this silence almost physically. In the silence lies the birthplace of a new perspective.

Carola X dispenses with structures altogether. The background reflects the contrast of the inner process: on the left, a tightly meshed solid fabric as an image of the emotional blockade. On the right, the dissolution of the compressed into a flow.

Art expresses, processes, provides visions or even just a snapshot. This woman ultimately shows that the paradox of a situation can give rise to something new.
