Strong Women: Drum Dream Pictures - How Continents Come Together in the Feminine
.
Just look at her! The upright posture, the proud gait, the dignity in her features, the direct gaze from her own center, with a self-confidence we can only dream of ... the African woman!
The drummers of the Djembala Talking Drum and the artist Carola X Matthes invite you to an unusual encounter of drum music and art in the context of the Art and Culture Week / KuKuHU 2017 / on June 9 at 7 pm in the Erlöserkirche Henstedt.
Hot, haunting, dreamy and inspiring rhythms from West Africa meet the, partly African-inspired, strong portraits of women by artist Carola X Matthes. With exciting stories and informative background information, the moderator Stefanie Breme leads through the evening. A concert of the senses on a current background: the power of the feminine, which transcends continents and connects people with each other.
The drum group Djembala Talking Drum from Bad Bramstedt had already provided enthusiasm and encores with their rousing performance last year. This year "accompanied" by portraits of women by the artist Carola X. Colorful, self-confident, dignified and sometimes fragile, these portraits also visually carry the concert-goers into a world of female-inspiring power.
Free admission, donations in favor of an Africa women's project are very welcome.
We are looking forward to your visit!
