Class women don't have to explain anything.

She just sits there with her curlers. Made up, bored or thoughtful.

Who is this woman? Suburban chick or successful activist?

When feminism and curlers are mutually exclusive, women are trapped - and not just those ...

Who actually says what is authentic and who is free? Self-awareness is the healthy knowledge of the "I am I".

Our pigeonhole thinking comes up against its limits in the portraits of women by Carola X. The striking green-yellow X is again a statement: This is how it is! And who wants to tell me where I belong!

The interrupted lines, the intense coloring, the powerful brushwork, the flowing color formations, the fine and coarse structures underline the statement beyond the norm. It is just not clear to say who this woman is when she does not fit into any pigeonhole.
